Over the course of two weeks, we will:

  • Learn about alternative building technologies, permaculture design, and community-scale microarcologies.

  • Begin construction of a ‘Simple Survival’ model Earthship – a self-sufficient autonomous dwelling made of natural and recycled materials.

  • Further develop a masterplan for the site that integrates built structures, organic food production, water management, and wildlife habitat.

  • Discuss how to establish a cooperative nonprofit educational center for ecological design-build arts and craft that will serve the local community.

  • Tour other local projects dedicated to ecological design, agroforestry, and sustainable development.

  • Go on local excursions to hike through a cloud forest, boat on the Lago de Apanas, and browse the artisan markets of Jinotega.

  • Eat delicious meals prepared by our local hosts.

  • Practice yoga and meditation, incorporating exercise and mindfulness into our daily routine.

  • Sleep under the stars in tents and hammocks.  (Or treat yourself to a dorm/hotel room in Jinotega and commute – a 15 minute drive to the site.)

  • Tell stories, make art, play, swim, sing, and dance.

  • Form new friendships to last a lifetime.

  • Plants seeds for positive change.

Join a global community of like-minded revolutionaries passionate about alternative design/build, environmental sustainability, creative self-expression, and cooperative living!  Be a part of the first of many cohorts that will together manifest another forward-thinking alternative to the status quo.

Participation fee: in order to provide the best experience possible, we are charging a modest fee that will allow us to hire local staff (instructors, drivers, and cooks) and provide a supply of clean drinking water and nutritious food throughout the convergence, as well as on-site showers and composting toilets.  Once these expenses are covered, what funds remain will go towards building materials, plants, and tools.

$750 (early bird) – pay in full by 09/21/2019
